Prof. Muhammad Yunus, co-founder of the microfinance concept, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. His approach and that of the entire microfinance movement is in a hopeful contrast to the trumped “You are fired” -unculture. Almost 40% of the world’s population live on less than $2 a day. Microfinance loans offer these people without collateral the opportunity to take out microcredits to help them build up a livelihood. This gives borrowers the opportunity to free themselves from poverty on their own.
We are very pleased that we were able to win Mrs. Edda Schröder, Managing Director of Invest in Visions GmbH in Frankfurt and founder of the first German microfinance fund, as a speaker. Mrs Schröder has been intensively involved in various areas of development aid since before she started working in the financial sector. Their vision was and is to provide investors with access to investments that offer a social return in addition to financial returns.
We will then be at your disposal for questions and discussion.
